Interviews

    w. Artists

"Poetry is the way we help give name to the nameless so it can be thought. The farthest external horizons of our hopes and fears are cobbled by our poems, carved from the rock experiences of our daily lives." -Audre Lorde, Poetry Is Not a Luxury

Blessed be the artists. The creatives. Artists are the meaning-makers. They are who ground us as individuals, who tie us to a specific culture and time and place. They are who give expression to the human condition and guide us through the world. They invite mystery and wonder and the unknown. We wanted to get a glimpse of the mind of an artist. What is it that makes art so absolutely essential? We conducted these interviews looking for the human-ness of an artist; the work-flow and the stumbles, the ideas and the aches. The human-ness which ultimately is the power behind the work they do.
